Don’t get me wrong, class was amazing tonight…I didn’t even want to practice in the first place. I’m cramping, worked 8 1/2 hours in my pajamas and slept like crapola the night before. My mind is still in Jamaica and when I thought class started at 5:15, I was 30 minutes early. Whoops! Quite an interesting way my day is panning out. With my brain all aflutter, I rolled out my mat in the spot I typical practice in, turned on my iPad, whipped out my notebook and created a sequence for my class that I teach directly after Kristi’s (based on the notion that I hated vashi b the night before and teaching it sounded dreadful which was my initial plan). Halfway through Kristi’s class I couldn’t contain my inner chuckle…were we seriously taking vashistasana B? No way, this cannot be true! What are the odds that Alana, Kristi and myself all planned our flows around this peak pose? I’ve had this happen with one other teacher at a time, but two? I wonder how many other yoga instructors out there taught or are planning to teach this pose this week. I would like to see a show of hands- if you are one us, please comment!
I will literally break out in hysteric laughter if I’m instructed to take this asana during another class this week. After my bout of stupefaction, I will draw myself forward to plank, turn onto my pinky edge side of my foot, lift of an arm and a leg, clasp my foot into my hand, (note my picture from yesterday for a reference) and smirk.
It’s good to be back!
